Cousin Joke was such an admirable woman

Cousin Joke was such an admirable woman. Whatever she had, she shared. Most valuably, she gave of herself and I remember with gratitude how she took the time and trouble in the winter of 1991 to seek us out in the depths of North Wales where we were living then. Since then, she has made sure she visited everywhere I lived....Wallington, Ijebu, Lagos etc and she has always been warmly welcomed by us all. My husband and children recall her openness to them, and indeed she gave one of my daughters her very first pair of high heeled shoes! Our closeness really stemmed from her closeness to our late father (Justice GBA Coker) and has grown from there. Coz J would shop and cook to make sure she had her delicious delicacies (coconut stew, banga stew, cabbage rice etc) on hand to share with us all. I admired her for her love of life, and her eagerness to live it to the full, cross-crossing the globe to spend time with or to support family members, despite medical challenges. She put many of us younger ones to shame. Coz J will be remembered for her kindness, her generosity, her care and the love she showered all around her. May her gentle and ever-loving soul rest in perfect peace. Bisi Ogutuga (née Coker)
